By downloading, installing, or using Cognito Money, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the software.

License Grant

Free Edition: You may use the free version indefinitely on your personal devices at no cost.

Paid Editions: When you purchase Premium or Power User edition, you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the software on all your personal devices.

Permitted Use

• Personal, non-commercial use on your own devices
• Installing on multiple computers you own or control
• Making backups of your data files
• Using AI features with your own API keys (Power User edition)

Prohibited Use

• Sharing, distributing, or reselling the software or license keys
• Reverse engineering, decompiling, or modifying the software
• Using for commercial purposes without written permission
• Removing or altering copyright notices or branding

Your Responsibilities

• Data Security: You're responsible for backing up your data and securing your computer
• Accurate Information: Provide accurate financial information for your own records
• API Keys: If using AI features, maintain your own API keys and manage associated costs
• Legal Compliance: Use the software in compliance with applicable laws

AI Accuracy: AI-powered features (chatbot, receipt scanning) may not be 100% accurate. Always verify important financial information.

"As Is" Software: The software is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, E-Comm Solutions LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of Cognito Money.

Updates and Support

Paid editions include lifetime updates to the version you purchased (e.g., Premium 1.x or Power User 1.x). Major version upgrades (e.g., 2.0) may require additional purchase. Email support is provided on a best-effort basis.

Termination

Your license continues until terminated. We may terminate your license if you violate these terms. Upon termination, you must cease using the software and delete all copies.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. Check the "Last Updated" date to see when changes were made.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Wyoming, USA. Any disputes will be resolved in Wyoming courts.
